Wonderful News
The Trustees are pleased to announce
that the Henley Stewards Charitable Trust have made a substantial
grant over three years to help fund our charitable activities
for young rowers. Commenting on this Jonathan Steel the Mark
Lees Foundation Chairman said
”This is most welcome news and enables us to continue
supporting young rowers trying to get into the national squads.
The MLF is very proud and honoured to be associated with the
Henley Stewards in this most generous way.”
Summer Activity
As some of you may have seen this summer we have had a team of supporters out and about collecting much valued funds for our applicants.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank both Marlow and Molesey Boat Clubs for granting us permission to collect at their regattas. Despite poor weather and Molesey regatta being cancelled Andy Hodge organized an impromptu BBQ at the boat club donating all proceeds to us.
The bulk of our work was done at Henley Royal Regatta with our team collecting all week. Thanks to Upper Thames Rowing Club and the Copas Family granting access to their land. In total the team collected over £1000.00 generating not only a much needed financial boost but a greater awareness of the work we do. Thanks to Regatta Radio and both Kath Granger and Andy Hodge for taking part in live interviews throughout the week, heightening awareness even further.
My final thanks go to all of you who may have given both time and money. As a first attempt our efforts proved most successful and we look forward to even more success next summer.
